Soul singer BJ the Chicago Kid, who has performed with a string of key players in the black music scene including Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, and Chance the Rapper, and made a big splash with the release of his second album, In My Mind, in 2016, BJ the Chicago Kid, is coming to Billboard Live.

Born in 1984 , Chicago, U.S.A. . Influenced by a wide range of music from old soul music to funk, R&B to hip-hop, BJ the Chicago Kid is slowly gaining attention as a singer with a taste for the prosumer, in the vein of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and D'Angelo.

His third album, "1123," released in July, his first in three and a half years, is another fine work.
