TOKYO BENTO STAND, a bento shop that has suddenly appeared in Daikanyama's Namiki-bashi neighborhood, is the talk of the town. The industrial design of the store, which does not look like a bento shop, and the iconic store logo, "TOKYO BENTO STAND," are the focus of much attention.AH.H. is strangely stylish, as it was created by Nigel Graff, an illustrator well-known for his work in the "The New York Times" and "The New York Times. Since its opening last week, the shop has been visited daily by highly sensitive people who work in the neighborhood and people in the fashion industry.
The bento shop has a very modern Tokyo atmosphere, which is no wonder, since it is run by Ken Yokomachi, who also runs the popular Anea Cafe, which has four locations in Tokyo, and Botanize, which is leading the recent tuberous plant boom in Japan. No wonder.
The exterior of the restaurant is chic with gray tiles. Can you imagine that this is a bento shop!
One of the main selling points of "TOKYO BENTO STAND" is the store design. Hiromichi Yumoto of "SEE SEE" designed the restaurant. The main attraction is the aluminum counter and the menu hanging from hangers underneath it. Although the store is small, there is also a "fast lunch corner" where you can eat in, so it is possible to have your meal here.
Under the counter, food samples of bento boxes hanging from hangers line the floor.
The bento menu starts at 680 yen. Most of them are standard bento such as noriben, karaage bento, and mixed fry bento . The bento in the center of the photo is the most popular Tokyo bento. A large-sized conger eel tempura lies on the side, and there are more than enough side dishes to fill a bento. It is a satisfying meal.
The green tea we are particular about is first-grade Shizuoka green tea. It goes well with bento.
Speaking of bento, tea is a must, and that is why Tokyo Bento Stand is particular about tea. We offer a variety of teas, including green tea, brown rice tea, and hojicha (roasted green tea), but we recommend the cold green tea. The best tea to try is the cold green tea, which has a refreshing taste without any bitterness and a hint of sweetness. It is well worth it just to go there to drink this tea.
Key chain with the store logo drawn by Nigel Graff. A must-have souvenir.
Merchandise is also available. . The photo shows a key chain in the shape of the store logo. Other items in the lineup include T-shirts. The T-shirts are already sold out! How about one as a souvenir?
The location is about 10 minutes walk from Daikanyama Station on Namiki Dori toward Shibuya , next door to the White Mountaineering store. You will see a sign with the store logo drawn by Nigel Graff appearing on the left.
From now on, my lunch in Daikanyama will be bento and green tea. I think it's hip. Tokyo Bento Stand , please keep in touch with us.
