A series of sensually captured images. Photographer Toyama Takuro held a solo exhibition in his hometown, Miyazaki.

Mr. Toyama Takuro is a photographer we have asked to photograph in HOUYHNHNM. When you meet him and talk with him, he seems quiet at first glance, but his photographs have a thread that seems to pull at your heartstrings. Even photographs of ordinary objects have a sense of realism that somehow stays with you. The distance between the subject and the camera, the angle of view, the timing of the shot, the focus... I feel that the roughness in a good sense, which cannot be explained in words, is suited to the current era.

Toyama's solo exhibition "things gone and things still here" is being held in Miyazaki, his hometown, from November 23. The exhibition features 20 new works taken in Miyazaki and other areas where he lives.

The venue is in Miyazaki CityDesign office and gallery "Sometimes...". In addition to the exhibition, there will be works and photo books for sale.
