Good news for those living in the Kansai region . The art magazine "MUEEN" was recently introduced in this news article. The pop-up event will be held at the art gallery "VOU / Bar" in Kyoto.
NOAA's paintings are unique in their relaxed atmosphere.
This work is by BORING AFTERNOON, an intellectual education program composed by Shuko Nakazato and Hidemasa Miyake.
A neon tube work by "ifax!", a guest artist for the first issue of MUEEN, who planned and produced the composition. At first glance, the work looks pop, but upon closer inspection, one can see that it is a delicate composition.
The first issue of "MUEEN," with the theme of "RAINBOW," was planned and organized by guest artists from the graphic, sculpture, painting, and music production fields, includingifax! The magazine also features the works of other artists ranging in age from 3 to 98 years old, and whose activities and expressions vary from painting, music, cooking, photography, sculpture, illustration, and so on. The exhibition will be a condensed version of their worldviews.
Artists' works and goods as well as original items from "VOU / Bar" will be sold. Enjoy shopping and looking for Christmas gifts , too.
The exhibition is, of course, a must-see, but what is also noteworthy is its venue, Kyoto's "VOU / Bar". The gallery exhibits and sells works and goods that are strange and bizarre in a good sense by underground artists, and holds pop-ups selling Hokkaido's folk art, such as carved wooden bears, etc. It is a gallery that transmits a wide variety of culture while organizing many unique events. . Originally opened in 2015 in a machiya (townhouse) in Kyoto, it moved to a building and expanded its scale in October of this year.
One of the highlights of the event is to see what kind of chemical reaction will occur between "MUEEN" and "VOU / Stick". The exhibition will run for 9 days from December 21 (Sat) to 29 (Sun). The year-end and New Year holidays are a busy time of the year, but why not take a break from it all and stroll through the streets of Kyoto to experience art and take in some new ideas?
