Featuring one of the greatest icons in sports history, Michael Jordan, and one of the most successful teams of all time, the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s, the film includes never-before-seen footage from the 1997-98 season of this team that won six championships in eight years.
In the fall of 1997, the film team received permission from Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf and head coach Phil Jackson to accompany and photograph the team throughout the season. As a result, the team was able to capture images of the iconic player and team that would not normally be seen. Now, 20 years later, those images are revealed for the first time in Michael Jordan: The Last Dance.
The series follows the Chicago Bulls through the tumultuous 1997-98 season, going back to Michael Jordan's childhood, the tough situation the team was in before he was hired in 1984, the rebirth of the team with his arrival, and the struggles that led to the team's first championship. The film also follows the Chicago Bulls through their first five championships, vividly capturing the off-court challenges, trials, and joys of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, a team that would go on to have a profound impact on basketball culture.
An inside look at the intriguing 1998 championship, where unexpected stories exist, is presented by Michael Jordan's valued teammates Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Steve Kerr, as well as head coach Phil Jackson and other players. Interviews with rivals and many celebrities from outside the basketball world are also included. And all of the tension and struggles that lead up to the final victory are played out.
Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls of the '90s were more than just superstars. They were a global phenomenon. The production of Michael Jordan: The Last Dance was an incredible opportunity to explore the tremendous impact one man and one team had. We spent nearly three years digging into the iconic stories of these sports heroes to show them as individuals. We hope our viewers enjoy the series as much as we enjoyed the opportunity to produce it," said Jason Hehir, production supervisor.
MICHAEL JORDAN: THE LAST DANCE" is a sports documentary series that is a must-see for basketball fans and worth a watch for those who do not. Although we tend to have a negative mindset every day due to the new Corona, we should try to have fun every day. I hope "MICHAEL JORDAN: THE LAST DANCE" will be one of them for you.
