Tokyo Design Studio New Balance chose an illustrator with a pop art style as its next collaboration partner.

As a new item, the unisex T-shirt collection will be released on July 17 (Fri.) with the collaboration partner, Takayo Akiyama (TAKAYO AKIYAMA), an illustrator living in London, England, who is active in Europe and Japan.

The collection features printed and embroidered graphics inspired by New Balance's new concept store "T-House New Balance," which will open in Nihonbashi Hamacho, Tokyo, on the same day as the launch.

This standard cut-and-sew material blended with functional yarns is resistant to losing its shape even after repeated washing and features excellent moisture absorption and quick-drying properties.

The wide body width, slightly shorter length, and pattern with no sloping shoulders fit all kinds of people. Although this is highly functional sportswear that could easily be considered an industrial product, the cuffs, pockets, and hem are left uncut, giving this item a crafted feel. It will play a leading role in the coming season.

The graphic design is a fusion of "old and new," "office and store in the same space," and "east of Tokyo," a place that has not yet been explored by Akiyama, who has lived in London for nearly 20 years. The drawings express a sense of mystery that cannot be defined.

On the same day, the brand's first socks also went on sale. Developed to be worn comfortably with sneakers and sandals regardless of the season, the socks are made of water-absorbent and quick-drying polyester and nylon blended yarn, and are designed to maximize the waterproof and breathable function of GORE-TEX footwear.

We aim to improve performance by technically adjusting the knitting of the socks. For example, they provide ventilation at the instep, which is prone to temperature increases when wearing footwear, arch and heel support, and cushioning for the soles, all of which reduce fatigue.

The look is simple and standard. A single fluorescent yellow point on the back of the ribs adds an urban accent.

Both of these items are now available at Tokyo Design Studio New Balance, which offers not only functionality but also added fashion. We recommend checking them out as soon as possible in preparation for the hot summer season.
