Various industries have been damaged by the Corona disaster, but the entertainment industry, which mobilizes audiences, has been particularly hard hit by the inability to hold performances. Kabuki, one of Japan's most popular traditional performing arts, is one of them.
While we hope for a speedy recovery, we are pleased to announce that "Nakamura Ittaro x Onoe Ukon ART Kabuki" will be streamed online on Sunday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. as a new attempt for fans who have been waiting for the show. Tickets are on sale at "e-plus" and "Lawson Ticket.

This performance is a completely new interpretation of the traditional performing arts in a modern form: an online distribution of Kabuki performances and a fusion of art and Kabuki.
This new production, which has been developed by kabuki actor Ichitaro Nakamura, will feature Ukon Onoe, another kabuki actor, as well as Japanese dancers Genkuro Hanayagi and Ryotaro Fujima. The music, which is an important part of Kabuki, will be performed by a lineup of Japanese instrumentalists of the national treasure class.

The creators participating in this year's event are also gorgeous, as the event will also incorporate artistic elements.
The hair and makeup will be done by Noboru Tomizawa, who is active worldwide in hair and makeup direction and makeup design, the styling by Takuto Satoyama, who has styled various genres including Nogizaka46, and the headpieces will be created by "edenworks," a flower creator who creates flower-related creations with plants and various other items. The headpieces will be produced by "edenworks," a flower creator who creates flower-related creations using plants and various items.
As you can see from the teaser video, the attraction is a different sense of power from that of the theater. This may be enjoyable even for Kabuki beginners.
If you are interested but cannot watch it, there will be an archived streaming from 19:30 on July 13 (Mon.) to 23:00 on July 19 (Sun.). Finally, here are some comments from Ichitaro Nakamura and Ukon Onoe that show their enthusiasm.
With this in mind, and with the help of our wonderful colleagues, we are now creating works that specialize in "dance" and "attractiveness," which are our two main passions in life. I am not prepared to end up being told that "Kabuki and Japanese dance cannot be performed in theaters" or that I created this work because of such a situation. We want to continue with this project because we are doing it, and we are conscious that it must be a work that is relevant to "now." We have put on the expressions of artists who are too attractive today, and we have filled it with the maximum expression that we can make "now. As the name "ART Kabuki" suggests, we hope you will fully enjoy the beautiful and artistic world of Kabuki.
