The Paris Men's Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2021 season had to be held online for the first time in history due to the effects of the new coronavirus. It is a pity that we will not be able to see the elaborate runways of each brand, but on the other hand, the unprecedented situation has raised expectations for new creations to emerge.
Under these circumstances, led by Jonathan AndersonLOEWEThe presentation format chosen by the "Show in a box" is "Show in a box," in which the collection is packed inside a box.
This huge box, measuring approximately 32 x 37 cm, was inspired by Marcel Duchamp's "Museum in a box" and was created under the supervision of Andersson and the design unit M/M (Paris). The rectangular box is covered with gray canvas and has a very simple design with the brand name and logo.
. When you open the lid, a total of 12 folders peek out. And the letter from Jonathan, which is the first thing you see, reveals that what is contained in these folders are the contents that unravel the collection. Let's check out the contents.
This brochure includes descriptions of the six photographs, three paintings, and one sculptural work that served as the design source. The names of the painters there include Diego Velazquez and El Greco.
In the folder labeled "Silhouettes" are samples of all the looks. However, they are not mere samples. . It is a three-dimensional look that you can assemble with your own hands, and you can enjoy it from anywhere in 360 degrees.
Using one's own hands and experiencing creations through the sense of touch. Perhaps Loewe is trying to convey once again the importance of these analog aspects.
Printed on the postcards are shoes with genderless designs that showcase Anderson's skill.
The samples of fabrics actually used include cotton inspired by the traditional Japanese technique of Shibori, goblin weave with its intricate patterns, and leather, which is Loewe's signature, and other fabrics of different tastes, showing the diversity of the collection.
The soundtrack provided was a 7-inch vinyl record and a card board player. When the record is manually spun, a voiceover by DJ James Fox will be played, introducing a factory in Fetafe, Spain.
The book, made of the same fabric as the box, is designed to open to reveal a fictional show setting. It is set against the backdrop of a rock cave , with various flowers and trees.
We cannot show all of the contents here, but in addition, the pattern for the circle top, one of the key looks, and the pattern for the sunglasses, which can actually be tried on, are also enclosed.
In addition to this, an online event related to the collection will be launched on the brand's official Instagram and website on Sunday, July 12, at 10:00 (Japan time).
