Burned by alcohol, everyday life goes on... Yusuke Hanai creates wood art for the first time, and the well-known KAWS studio in Hong Kong is involved.

Recently, he launched the artist project label "MEET PROJECT" by AllRightsReserved, and has been working with renowned artists to revitalize the art scene.

Yusuke Hanai was nominated for this project. He is a Japanese artist who has gained popularity for his ironic and humorous illustrations against the backdrop of American counterculture.

The title of the collaborative work is "Down But Not Out". It means "down but not out," and is derived from a boxing term. What is the motif behind this expression? Here are two items to be released.

The wood sculpture is Hanai's first and largest three-dimensional work to date, measuring approximately 19 inches. The curled up back, weak hands, and eyes gazing sadly at a single point give the sculpture an endearing sense of languor. The 8.7-inch-high wooden bottle can be used as a vase for a single flower or as an interior piece of art.

A man who has failed in life, himself, exposes himself to the viewer, and gently approaches the viewer.... The release will start at 12:00 (Tokyo time) on Monday, August 10, 2012. It is perfect not only for drinking, but also for people today who have no end of worries.

The wood sculpture presented here is a little larger than a regular figure, but since it is a wood carved doll, it can sit on a wooden bear carved in Hokkaido, or on a chair, or on the edge of a shelf. Look at it from time to time and laugh at the foolish man who is burned out from failure.
