In the 1960s, hippie culture was born as a counter to the Vietnam War and the conservative values of the time. The Grateful Dead accelerated and solidified it. Even after the death of frontman Jerry Garcia, the Grateful Dead's charisma remained strong.
This time, the legendary band has teamed up with [Joon].Yesterdays Tomorrow (YSTRDY'S TMRRW)〉. The brand's standard items are dyed in dead colors.
The wide width and cotton fabric of "Yesterdays Tomorrow" is comfortable, and the original artwork used for the Grateful Dead's albums and concert posters is on the "Baggy Tee". The artwork includes the well-known Skull & Roses and Dancing Bear. To make the most of it, the colors are white and black.
Grateful Dead items have the image of a hippie mindset on full display, but this work has a "Yesterday's Tomorrow" body & minimalist design. Both world views are timeless and well blended.
It is now on sale at select Beauty & Youth and United Arrows stores nationwide and at H Beauty & Youth to rave reviews. The online store will begin sales on Wednesday, August 19.
Lastly, we would like to leave you with a comment from Hisaya Kanno, designer of Yesterdays Tomorrow.
The Grateful Dead was one of the icons I admired in the 1990s, as I watched my seniors customize their clothes and motorcycles with Stekar and patches. As I started copying them and customizing my own T-shirts, helmets, etc., I naturally started listening to their music as well. I had seen their artwork in various places, but this time I designed this item with the hope of adding an exquisite sense of relaxation by incorporating it into a standard item of "Yesterdays Tomorrow". The cracked prints and embroidery are nostalgic, and the texture is made to be loved by the wearer.
