The white upper with a black stabbing color follows the design of saddle shoes. Mountain Research's sense of mixing and matching has created a highly adaptable pair that can be worn with everything from sporty styling to traditional, and even punks and teddies.
The idea of using the switching part of the shoelace hole as the saddle part of a saddle shoe is brilliant! This succeeded in incorporating elements of saddle shoes without any sense of discomfort.
The black saddle is the same color as the horse's saddle, and the "Mountain Research" logo sits proudly on the tongue. Incidentally, "The Athlete's Shoe" appears on the back of the tongue.
Let me borrow Mr. Kobayashi's words again. I was inspired by the fact that, as with saddle shoes, it is the plain form of the shoe that allows for this kind of play (in a sense, cultural). It is the same process that our predecessors followed in adding saddles to plain toes, in terms of feelings. In this age when sneakers that make a statement with their volume are the mainstay of the market, why not decorate your feet with a pair like this? I think this is a good idea. We are attracted to Mountain Research because of the stories and meanings behind their designs.
