The concept of "Under the Crown" was inspired by the punk rock movement of the 1970s, which was sparked by British workers, as exemplified by The Clash. The punk rock boom of the time was an expression of protest and rebellion against the aristocracy and monarchy (the "crown" as its symbol) by young working-class people who were economically and socially anxious and dissatisfied.
After the war, as Britain's population grew, many laborers were forced to live in cramped conditions and were forced to live in squalor. Conflicts and bickering among the people became commonplace, and these social changes eventually led to the expression of rebellion and anger toward the norms and the system through clothing and attitudes. This anti-establishment upsurge was the beginning of the punk movement. Here is a collection that projects such an era.
The punk style has carried over into the modern era and continues to grace the runways each season. Damaged, vintage straps, and bleached fabrics are all part of the collection, which was born from the spirit of "not being subservient to the system (crown)" of 1970's England and punk rock music.
The collection will be available for pre-order on the special website from January 27, and will go on sale on February 4 at "monkey time Harajuku", monkey time, UNITED ARROWS, and BEAUTY&YOUTH UNITED ARROWS nationwide. Please pick up a copy at a store.
