Among military wear, MA-1s and mod coats are probably the most well-known items. However, there are of course other great items as well, and the monster parka, which has been released by various brands in recent years, is one of them.
The first collaboration between "77circa," which has an established reputation for reassembling vintage clothing, and the outdoor brand "WILDTHINGS" featured one such item. This is their first collaboration.
M-48 Monster Parka ¥58,000+TAX
The word "PCU" is indispensable when talking about the Monster Parka .
PCU is a layering system designed for the U.S. Army Special Forces to handle various climates and situations, and there are levels from 1 to 7.
As this is a level 7 item, which is the highest class of item, it features a silhouette so big that it can be woven over the equipment.
. This work mixes typical details of the M-48, the predecessor of the mod coat, such as a cigarette pocket on the left arm and a drawcord that allows the silhouette to be adjusted.
Other changes to the existing design, such as changing the Velcro tape on the front to snap buttons and lengthening the length of the garment, showcase Nana Nana Sarka's editorial skills.
The inner lining is made of "PrimaLoft," which traps heat and blocks cold air. The result is a highly functional item that not only retains heat, but is also lightweight, water-repellent, and breathable.
Snow Camo Parka ¥24,000 yen + tax (with special hanger)
In conjunction with this launch, a limited edition of 10 70's deadstock snow camo parkas will also be available.
This unique item can be used not only as outerwear, but also as a garment case by tucking the sleeves inside and fastening the snap buttons located at the front zip, back hem, and neck. It is also quite oversized, as it is designed to fit the aforementioned Monster Parka perfectly.
The new item, named "M-48 Monster Parka," is now on sale at "BEAMS" and other stores nationwide. The snow camo parka is only available at 77 Circa's online site.
