Straight lines and curves swim freely in the canvas, and the colorful coloring takes in oxygen.
Artist Efrain Vivas, who brings his work to life in this way, will hold a solo exhibition at the gallery SALT AND PEPPER.
Efrain Vivas grew up in Japan and Venezuela, and recently moved to Amsterdam to continue his activities.
Through his independent activities at AMS, he has broken away from the limited support of canvas, and actively incorporates materials that are a part of daily life, such as building materials found on the streets and leather and doors given to him by friends, into his frames and canvases, sublimating even everyday matters into his works. Even everyday objects are sublimated into his works of art.
He is also inspired by the modern architecture in Caracas and the concrete jungle of Tokyo.
During the AMS lockdown, he created more than 100 works on the theme of "shadow and light. This solo exhibition also embodies his curiosity: "How will the world view art after 2020, when we will have experienced dizzying changes in our daily lives?
The exhibition will be held from today, November 14 (Sat.) to December 4 (Fri.). With all the gloomy news, it is easy to drop your eyes, but if you turn your gaze to the canvas, you will feel the strength that art has to offer.
"Lightiing."
