I was forced to take a nest egg in Corona, and my contact with culture and art was drastically reduced. It was a frustrating year for both senders and receivers. On the other hand, online technologies and methods have evolved rapidly. Meetings and events are now usually held via the Internet.
UENOYES, an event that has been taking place in Ueno, Tokyo, since 2018 and offers a unique take on culture and art, also went online this year.
Last year, there was a fashion show and a cardboard monument that created quite a stir, and this year is no different. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Com Eye, Yayako Uchida, Fram Kitagawa, Naohiro Ukawa, Sakiko Hirano and many others will hold talk sessions based on the theme. There will be a total of 34 performers! All sessions will be sign language interpreted, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided for sessions in English.
This is a special opportunity to discuss the inclusive values and future vision of "Ueno" with a diverse cast of performers. The streaming will be available on YouTube below. Participation is of course free of charge. A new perspective on culture and art.
