Jil Sander.Four years after being entrusted with the major role of Creative Director of Lucy and Luke Meyer's sharpness is finally sharpening.
Solid patterns, designs, and color palettes that are addictive - the playfulness emerges only because they are stripped down to the bare essentials. In addition to contrasting colored stitching and buttons, the pockets symbolized their charming design work this season.
The best example is the blouson set-up. The hunting jacket has a detachable pocket on the back with a game pocket on the front. It is truly a subtle yet memorable accent. The material is techno matte satin, which is light, taut, and pleasant to the touch.
The flat, supple leather bag with no gusset, called the "double pocket bag," is also hard to pass up. Inspired by a work apron, the bag is certainly reminiscent of a work apron when worn around the waist. It would look great as a finishing touch to a simple outfit. It can also be worn over the shoulder like a cross-body bag.
Their work this season was more aptly described as design than design. There was even a coat with detachable sleeves (from long-sleeved to short-sleeved) using loop rings, and I was impressed by every single one of them.
