In an age when select stores are proliferating and clothes can be easily purchased online, it is not uncommon to find a brand's world view only at a directly managed store. However, the experience of savoring a brand's worldview through the building, space, and conversations with the store staff is something that can only be experienced at a directly managed store.
NAKAGAMI, whose concept is to "enjoy the changes that occur over time, and to take good care of your clothes and wear them for 10 years to come," will open its first directly-managed store in Nakameguro, Tokyo.
Created by Kazuei Nakagami, an experienced patterner at sacai, the brand is characterized by clothes that reinterpret traditional items from a modern perspective. While the relaxed silhouette is in line with the current era, the high-quality materials and bold patterns give the clothes a dressy feel.
The new flagship store is located near the Meguro River. The store will offer the full collection in a glass-walled container-like exterior.
The building was designed by SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE. By deliberately eliminating doors, the boundary between the outside and the inside is blurred. The building embodies Nakagami's stance of blending in with the city while flexibly accepting everything.
The opening date is Saturday, January 23. Perhaps it is precisely because we live in an age when people are afraid to be in contact with others that we are tempted to visit places where we can share the things we like with others. Of course, don't forget to take precautions against infection.
