LOUIS VUITTON has established a firm position in the rapidly changing world of fashion. Perhaps the brand's greatness lies in its ability to anticipate the trends of the times and constantly create new values.
The exhibition "LOUIS VUITTON &" will be held to look back on the 160-year history of Louis Vuitton.
The centerpiece of this project will be collaborations with Japanese artists who have been presented in the past. Works by Kansai Yamamoto, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Yayoi Kusama, NIGO®︎, and many others will be on display.
The "Monogram" bag reinterpreted by Karl Lagerfeld, Cindy Sherman, Rei Kawakubo, and Frank Gehry; works commissioned from Arata Isozaki, Richard Prince, and Zaha Hadid; Takashi Murakami's short animation "Superflat," released in 2003; and many others. The exhibition will trace the footsteps of the Louis Vuitton brand by displaying a number of creations that have colored the times and were made possible only by Louis Vuitton.
The event space "jing" in Harajuku, Tokyo, which will be the venue of the event, will consist of 10 spaces and will be filled with a variety of contents, including digital installations. In addition, there will be a special store selling Louis Vuitton products.
The exhibition will open on Friday, March 19. It will be a unique opportunity to explore the history of modern fashion.
