Snow Peak and JOURNAL STANDARD relume have collaborated season after season in an ongoing effort.
For the spring/summer 2009 season, we will launch collaborative products with goyemon, a product design unit co-chaired by Ai Onishi and Kenta Takeuchi.
Snow Peak × goyemon × relume unda each ¥25,300 in TAX
The new product to be released is a special "unda" model developed by Goemon that combines the design of snow shoes with the sole of a sneaker.
The completely new design, born out of a desire to preserve Japanese traditions, has been kept intact, but with the addition of Snow Peak and Journal Standard Relume.
This time, organic cotton, which is also used for "Snow Peak's" clothing, is used for the upper and nose. The monochromatic color scheme gives the shoes a more modern look.
The midsole, made of PU material with an air sole, provides sneaker-like comfort. The hardness of the midsole is adjusted for optimum softness, and the air sole further reduces shock when landing.
The unevenness of the outsole is modeled after the Bishamon turtle shell found on the armor of Bishamonten, one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune. This detail is not only functional in terms of grip, but also in respect for Japanese tradition.
As a symbol of the collaborative model, a "Snow Peak" tag is placed on the heel.
By the way, they are symmetrical to this "unda". So, by regularly wearing the left and right sides interchangeably, the familiar sneaker problem of the sole decreasing only on the outside or the inside is solved.
It is available in two colors, indigo and beige. Reservations are now being accepted on a special page.
