MHAK as Masahiro Akutagawa (MHAK) is a contemporary artist whose theme is "coexistence of art and living space. In addition to providing artwork to global companies, MHAK has gained a high level of support both in Japan and abroad, including the release of his signature shoes from adidas Skateboarding in 2017.
MHAK's next collaboration partner is Mercedes-Benz, whose new EV "EQA" is on display at the "EQ House" in Roppongi, Tokyo.
The camouflage design on the front of the EQA. The inspiration for this design came from "test cars. Test cars are used for driving tests of vehicles under development, and in order to prevent rival manufacturers from recognizing the design, the cars are painted with a swirling graphic pattern.
This design is arranged in MHAK's style. By incorporating the artwork in a precise manner, the unevenness of the body line is obscured, creating the illusion of a flat surface. The result is an artistic Mercedes-Benz that is unique to the world.
