The other day, we reported on YUICHI TOYAMA's premium series "YUICHI TOYAMA:5.A new series, "YUICHI TOYAMA / D," will be launched in mid-May, following "YUICHI TOYAMA / D".
The first collection will feature two models named "TOMOE" and "YOTSUME".
As the model name suggests, the lens shape is inspired by the traditional Japanese family crests "mitsuboe" and "hirayotsume.
UD-133 "TOMOE" ¥29,700
UD-134 "YOTSUME" ¥29,700
The bridge has a form reminiscent of a single mountain, eliminating the engraved pattern to give it a classic look while making it easier to fit the Asian frame.
The size, shape, and balance of the frames have been pursued to maintain the beauty of the frames when they are placed on the face, but also to harmonize with the face when worn, and to fit in naturally with the face.
Focusing on the honeycomb relationship between the bridge and butterfly feet, the fit of the nose is also improved.
And I am curious about the series name "D".
This one comes from the designer Yuichi Toyama, who stored a huge number of documents such as idea sources, drawings, and designs in a folder he named "D." The folder was named "D" for the number of documents he stored in it.
The design team inherited the fragments of ideas in the "D" folder and delved into them, adding a modern essence to them to successfully realize the "5 Routines" that Mr. Toyama advocates: look, think, draw, make, and break.
On the occasion of the collection launch, all models of the new series will be exhibited at the showroom and coffee stand "THE LOBBY TOKYO," and the design team studio "POIKADESIGNS," led by fashion painter and art director Takumi Tsuda, will exhibit and sell reproductions of original designs, T-shirts, and original artwork. POIKADESIGNS", a design team studio led by fashion painter and art director Takumi Tsuda, will exhibit and sell original reproductions, T-shirts, and original artwork.
The collection will be introduced on the website of Yuichi Toyama, and the exhibited works will also be introduced and sold at the online store of Poika Designs.
Minimalist eyewear that is not showy, but rather a casual design that gently accompanies the wearer in everyday life. It is a series that brings a sense of pride to the wearer, like a family crest.
