Nike's unprecedented project "Breaking2" aims to run a full marathon in under 2 hours. The Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite, a racing model shoe developed for the project, has been announced.
While thin soles are the norm for racing shoes, this work uses the Nike Zoom X midsole, which has a forefoot sole as thick as 21 millimeters. It is light, soft, and resilient, with excellent cushioning. It is said to increase speed by providing more energy return to the runner.
The Flyknit upper that fine-tunes to the wearer's needs, the new sole system using carbon fiber plates, and the heel that demonstrates aerodynamic performance, all of which are made with an emphasis on efficiency, are also not to be overlooked for their ultimate functional beauty.
Unfortunately, however, the price and release date have not yet been announced. The ultimate performance shoe developed to help mankind break the 2-hour full marathon barrier. We would very much like to see it in our hands, and moreover, to try it on.
In addition, based on the data obtained from Breaking2, three new models, Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%, Nike Zoom Fly, and Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34, will be available. These are in June.NIKE.COMand some stores.
