Ami Alexandre Matthiussi pursues a new form of traditional clothing by combining two different elements, casual and chic. The secret of the brand's popularity lies in the fact that it is not all about the classics, even though it is called "traditional," but rather has a street flavor. More than 500 stores around the world carry the brand. This number shows how much Ami is loved by customers.
The brand is launching an artist collaboration focusing on its signature "Amis de Coeur" logo. To begin with, the "ami de coeur" logo is a combination of a heart and an ace, a symbol used personally by designer Alexandre to refer to a "friend of the heart. This project is to have various artists interpret "Ami de Coeur" each year and create a capsule collection using their designs.
For the first commemorative edition, AMI offered the opportunity to French graphic artist Jean-Julien . Alexandre explained why: "His unique work is subtle, yet fun and iconic, and fits the spirit of the AMI brand. The collaboration seemed to go well, with Jean saying, "This little cataclysm was a perfect representation of our worldview.
The finished product is six illustrations. The cute characters are wearing heart hats and are smiling, sitting, crossing their arms, ... in humorous poses.
Using this work, three items were made: a simple white T-shirt, a sweatshirt, and a hoodie. The soft character on the chest is cute. Each piece will be available in three different styles, and every piece will have a serial number.
Sales in Japan will begin on July 26 (Mon.). It will be available at AMI Shibuya Parco and AMI Hankyu Men's Tokyo. The unisex design makes it a good choice as a gift. But isn't this a little curious?
