J.M. WESTON's Golf is a masterpiece of the French shoe brand J.M. WESTON, which was born in 1955. This is because they were a unique companion for newspaper reporters who earned their living with their feet.
The new "Eugene Golf" is the new sibling to this one. The key point of the update is that the "Golf" face is retained, but the "Robust" scale is swept away.
The soling was changed from Goodyear welt to Norwegian welt, and the mocca stitch, the icon of this shoe, was updated from a worship stitch (sewing two pieces of leather together) to a cover stitch (sewing the seam as if covering it). Robust indeed.
Leather is the finishing touch. If you want to take the high road, the glossy calf leather shown in the top image is the best choice, but what should not be overlooked is a pair of shoes clad in supple suede. The suede, which is familiar from country shoes, is dyed black, giving the shoes a French-chic elegance while at the same time making them fearless.
Eugene, the name at the beginning of the model name, is the name of the second generation. He moved to the U.S. to learn shoemaking techniques and was a key figure in laying the foundation for the company's present-day activities.
A pair of shoes that are robust and unmatched is worthy of the name of a pioneer who has trodden the path of shoemaking.
