Calvin Klein's advertising visuals have been colored by the times, featuring famous artists. Many of you may remember the campaigns from the 1980s and 1990s, when modern fashion was at its peak. The most famous of these campaigns were the underwear visuals shot by photographer Bruce Weber and the perfume visuals starring model Kate Moss. These photographs not only conveyed information visually, but also had an artistic beauty and strength that appealed to the viewer's senses.
The visuals presented here also reflect the identity of the brand.
Announced this time is the campaign for "Calvin Klein Menswear". Actor Shota Matsuda, who was chosen as the ambassador of the Japan brand, will appear in the campaign.
More than 20 years ago, when I was in the upper grades of elementary school, Calvin Klein was the first fashion brand I became aware of. I was just overwhelmed by the vague image of New York and the logo on the waistband of the underwear. Fashion is something to be enjoyed casually, and I think it has such an important role to play that sometimes you can dress formally and stand up straight, and change into a different person even if your personality remains the same. Being appointed as an ambassador this time, I feel that my way of thinking and living has been recognized by the brand in some way.
This visual captures a different look from the face shown in the movie and drama. It was shot by Katsuhide Morimoto, a photographer active in numerous fashion magazines.
Calvin Klein Menswear" just launched this fall. I think it is off to a very good start. It will be interesting to see what kind of chemical reaction Mr. Matsuda will create with this brand.
