In the mid-20th century, when haute couture was at its height, designer Kenzo Takada declared war on Paris mode and introduced the new idea of prêt-a-porter. At the time, he expressed on the runway the influences of England's youth culture, known as Swinging London, and laid the foundation for street fashion, which has now become commonplace.
The "KENZO TAKADA TRIBUTE COLLECTION" is dedicated to Kenzo Takada, who sadly passed away last October. This collection was originally planned by Felipe Oliveira Batista, creative director of KENZO, as part of the Fall-Winter 2021 collection.
The T-shirts and sweatshirts feature a portrait of Kenzo Takada with vivid-colored embroidery, and are made to reflect his brightness, as he always had a smile on his face.
