With so much news flying around, why is the sound of collaboration so special? But that doesn't mean anything goes. It is all about the chemistry between the two parties.
But when you hear that Schott and Engineered Garments have collaborated to create leather riders, there's no better way to describe them.
502EG DOUBLE RIDERS ¥132,000
503EG SINGLE RIDERS ¥125,400
The most famous of the SCHOTT riders is the "One Star," born in the 1950s, with star-shaped studs on the epaulettes and a belt at the waist. Yes, this is the model that many stars loved to wear.
However, the leather riders to be released are simply designed double and single models without epaulettes or waist belts. The only design that can be recognized at a glance are the pockets, which have been changed to five pockets. As is typical of Engineered Garments, which specializes in modernizing good old American clothes, the design is simple in a good sense of the word, and is very easy to use.
This kind of arrangement would have lost some of its power, but that is exactly what SCHOTT has done. The high quality of the leather stands out even more, as it is made of strong and firm cowhide with oil content.
Both will be tagged on the collar.
Large front collar, typical of double riders. The front has three breast pockets and two hip pockets.
It also has an interior pocket and ample storage capacity.
The single rider's back is three-dimensional.
Like the double, the single also has a five-pocket design.
Both are based in N.Y. and have long pursued American clothing, so the workmanship is top notch.
It's time to go out and try on a pair of riders that you'll love the more you wear them. 5 or 10 years from now, you'll still be glad you bought them.
