Alejandro Gersi, aka Arca, is a Venezuelan prodigy. He has gained a following for his omnivorous sound that swallows and chews through different genres of music, including hip-hop, pop, electro, and noise. Last year, when he released his fourth album, "KiCK i," he announced that he is non-binary. Combined with her mysterious, gender-neutral appearance, she is building a one-of-a-kind world.
This time, Ray-Ban approached Arca.
Presented was a collaborative model based on "Aviator. The characteristic teardrop frames have been changed to a big size for these two models, which are simple in design but have an outstanding presence. The iconic double bridge is made of glossy leather brow bar, giving the eyes a completely different character from the usual ones.
Regenerator ¥54,780
Vortex ¥49,280
The white-framed "Regenerator" has a dimming lens that changes its expression depending on the reflection of light, while the black-framed "Vortex" has a black mirror lens. Both the white and black frames are designed to capture the bewitching atmosphere of Arca as it is.
The two limited edition models are limited to 200 pieces in each color and come in a special silver box. The elaborate design resembles a broken mirror and is accompanied by a black patent leather case and leaflet. The "ARCA" letters, which look like dripping paint, and the bright red hickey on each piece are sure to be a hit with fans.
This initiative was created as part of "Ray-Ban Studios," a project with artists from around the world, and will be available at select Ray-Ban retail stores and official online stores from October 20 (Wednesday).
