Finland is a lot like Japan. . A simple example would be that people take off their shoes in Finland. I was a tourist with a big camera hanging from my head, and they guided me along the streets and made me feel safe... It was a country where it was easy to take pictures. The scenery of light and color during the midnight sun and the polar night is beautiful, and I love the view of the lake as if it were a mirror. There is a culture of nature worship, and I felt empathy with the simple way of life of the people who live in gratitude for the blessings from the forests and lakes. People living in the capital also have archipelagos and forests close at hand, and I have been going there for 10 years because I enjoy imitating them, bringing my boots, going into the forest, and sitting around the fire. I will be exhibiting hand-printed works from films I have taken with a medium-format camera.

In this photo book, you will see the animals and humans living in the rich nature and beautiful towns of Finland, a country of forests and lakes, which Kakuta has been photographing for the past 10 years. The book is filled with the charm of Finland as it really is, which you cannot encounter as a tourist.
The photos are also accompanied by an episode of the shoot, which is another attraction that makes the photos stand out. All photos were taken with a Hasselblad medium format camera , which gives them a square finish. They were shot on negative film and hand-printed by the artist in his own darkroom.
