What kind of impression do you have of WISM, which we have often introduced in Huinamu? Many of you may have an image of a somewhat mischievous and streetwise shop.
Of course, that is also "wism," but it is only one face. Today I would like to introduce a hot and pure side that sincerely faces fashion and clothes.
The collaboration partner introduced here is THE INOUE BROTHERS. Based in Copenhagen, THE INOUE BROTHERS is a design studio that provides creative solutions to global social issues, and was founded in 2004 by the Inoue brothers, Satoshi and Seiji, who were born and raised in Denmark.
You might think that this would give you an image of gentle and mild-mannered characters, but it is not the case. They are passionate people. Once you talk to them, you will be drawn in by their personalities.
The clothes they make consist of alpaca knitwear made through direct trade with indigenous people living in the Andes Mountains of South America, and organic pima cotton clothing from Peru, all of which are GOTS certified.
The material used for this special order with "Wism" is "SURI". It is a long, very delicate, rare, and voluminous material of a breed of alpaca. It is produced in about 1/10th of the quantity of regular alpaca and is characterized by its gentle touch and long hairy legs.
As you can see from the photo, it is lightweight, soft, and has high heat retention properties.
The Inouye Brothers knit SURI into a low gauge, mohair-like pile, creating a one-of-a-kind item that can also be used as outerwear.
For this collaboration, two types of cardigans were produced: a cardigan, which was released in the past and was very popular, and a long cardigan, which is a completely new type of cardigan.

Incidentally, this SURI does not change its appearance even after being washed (but not in the dryer), making it an extremely easy-to-handle material. According to Satoshi Inoue, the brother of "The Inoue Brothers," SURI is "living hair. I think this means that it is a fabric that can be used for a long time.
The long cardigan is designed to be somewhere between a coat and a cardigan, with a fuss-worthy wrap-around finish.
