Daily life and illusions. DREAMS AND DAYS, an exhibition of photographs by Ippei Yume will be held at flotsam books.

Photographer Ippei Yume, who has long supported the activities of internationally and domestically active photographer Chikashi Suzuki as his right-hand man, has also continued his own photographic expression.

His photo exhibition "Dreams and Days" will be held at the art book store "flotsam books" in Daitabashi.

As the exhibition title "Dreams and Days (=Dreams and Daily Life)" suggests, Ippei Yume's photographs, despite the fact that they capture everyday life, have a sense of the extraordinary and the uncanny.

"I think that the scenes drawn by Yume Ippei have the power to liberate the socially accepted idea of what should be. The people who seem to deviate from the norm, the events that disappear in an instant, and the claw marks that will remain, unable to disappear. The film is filled with a tense atmosphere, but at the same time it is open to the viewer because of Yume's unique point of view." (Text: Shingo Isoyama)

Yume Ippei has been exhibiting the same title since 2018. At one point, the theme was shrimp chili, and we invite you to see for yourself what new works he has prepared for this exhibition.

The exhibition will be held from Friday, January 27 to Saturday, February 5. Please note that the gallery is closed on Wednesdays.
