The humor and tongue-in-cheek direction, the symmetry/asymmetry of the screen, and, above all, the casting. No one else in the world could have made the same film.
Wes Anderson's latest film, "French Dispatch The Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun Supplement," will be released on Friday, January 28.
story
The story takes place in the editorial department of the French Dispatch magazine in a fictional city in 20th century France. The magazine's talented reporters, each with his or her own unique style, have won popularity for their in-depth, one-of-a-kind articles on everything from international affairs to art, fashion, and gastronomy. However, the editor-in-chief dies suddenly on the job, and according to his will, the magazine is to be discontinued. What is the unexpectedly funny, tear-jerking story of the final issue as a memorial issue?
Many of you may recall "The Darjeeling Express" (2007), "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (10), "The Grand Budapest Hotel" (14), and "Inugashima" (18). Director Wes Anderson, who has created numerous masterpieces, has now made his latest film, his 10th feature film.
The setting is the editorial office of the French Dispatch magazine in a fictional town in 20th century France. The film comically depicts a group of reporters who are forced to close down the magazine after the sudden death of its editor-in-chief, and the funny people who surround them as they run around trying to publish the final issue of the magazine.
Once again, a stellar cast has been assembled.
The magazine's editor-in-chief is Bill Murray, a regular in Wes's films; Owen Wilson is a reporter who reports on the city while riding his bicycle; Tilda Swinton is a regular as a mysterious artist who knows the art world inside and out; and Benicio del Toro, Léa Seydoux, and Timothée Chalamet are others, Benicio del Toro, Léa Seydoux, and Timothée Chalamet are among the leading actors.
But beware. Wes's films are well known for veteran actors playing roles with no dialogue or appearing in only one scene. Do not take your eyes off the screen for even a moment.
The film is a mix of black-and-white and color images, and a small love story within a five-meter radius is told, but then a revolution occurs that burns down the entire city.... It is truly a magazine-like work that will make the viewer's eyeballs and brains spin at full speed. How they are harmonized and put together in one film is also a highlight of this film.
Please come and see the film in theaters.
