We are hearing everywhere that art is on the rise. Is this movement a boom or a hype?
We are pleased to announce that "DUSK TILL DAWN", a solo exhibition of artist "Lotta" will be held at "Feb gallery Tokyo".
This exhibition is curated by +DA.YO.NE, a brand established by artist and editor Yasumasa Yonehara that specializes in genre-independent collaborations.
Below are comments by artists and curators.
I want to bring together humans, monsters, ghosts, gods, and other 'beings' from world lines that normally do not intersect, and I want visitors to be a part of this celebration and participate in it.
When I saw her paintings, I could picture in my mind the story of a movie with a sense of déjà vu, even though, of course, no such movie or story exists. Of course, no such film or story exists. Even the actions and personalities of Socks, who shows various expressions in the film, came to me clearly. The worldview depicted in the film is exactly the present. But why? The newness that is imprinted in my memory and the nostalgia that comes back to me from memories I thought I had forgotten. The impression that wells up from the contradictory mood. I had never experienced such a feeling until I came across her work. I don't care why. All we have to do is taste more of the emotion.
This exhibition features about 13 new works, including large canvases. The subtitle "DUSK TILL DAWN" refers to the time between sunset and dawn, and is said to express a positive attitude toward the current situation: "The dark night will soon dawn.
The Hyakkai Yagyo is a mysterious entity that creates light by gathering together in a lively manner even in the darkness with no foreseeable future. It is precisely because we live in a chaotic world today that we want to feel this work.

Her works centered on "Socks," a ghost cat, an original character created in 2020, embody the stories of the characters that live in Lotta's brain, and sometimes become self-portraits, projecting Lotta herself. They are also self-portraits, sometimes projecting Lotta herself.
