Tranquility, fragility, and strength. TROVE" crosses these different elements and proposes relaxed everyday wear.
We have had a store in Shibuya since 2008, and are now relocating and reopening in Ochanomizu. The new store is a space where you can rethink how to be offline and face items in a relaxed atmosphere.
The first floor is a minimalist space with no cash registers or showcases in sight. The function is not limited to a store, but can also be used as an art gallery.
In the future, the gallery will also serve as a venue for various artists, including drawing artists and ceramic artists, both domestic and international, to exhibit their works, and is also considering presenting works created in collaboration with "Trove". For the opening, a work commissioned from a contemporary artist will be exhibited.
The B1F is a Japanese-style space inspired by a tea ceremony room. In order to produce the brand concept of "relaxation," Japanese elements such as stepping stones, pillars, and Japanese paper are used to create a space where visitors can experience the peacefulness of the spiritual world.
In addition to the space, the restaurant also offers heartwarming hospitality by actually boiling water and serving Japanese tea using the furnace installed in the building. Future events featuring traditional Japanese cultural figures such as tea ceremony masters and rakugo storytellers are also planned.
To commemorate the relocation and reopening, the brand's first denim items from Trove's Japanese clothing line "Wa-Robe" are now available.
The standard hanten type is set to a semi-long length, and the material used is a 15.8 oz. 5-continent organic denim originally developed by the major denim manufacturer BIGJOHN.
Using a rare shuttle loom from the early Showa period, the warp and weft yarns are carefully woven without giving tension to the utmost limit, resulting in a fluffy and tasteful texture that is hard to believe it is denim.
This denim is inspired by the traditional Japanese crotch bottom. The material has excellent stretch and kickback properties, and is finished with an elastic waistband and string belt for a "relaxed" look.
The aging process applied by HOWA Corporation, a world pioneer in processed denim, also gives them a taste so good that it is hard to believe they are new.
In an age when it is no longer necessary to visit physical stores, Trove's new store will be a place that reaffirms the importance of stores.
