With a playful and elegant spirit. Stylist and fashion designer Michio Hayashi shows us a new frontier.

The brand is created by stylist Michio Hayashi.by H.The concept is that the clothes are part of the landscape. Under the concept of "part of landscape," Hayashi himself draws patterns and crafts silhouettes and cuts to create playful items that quietly attract clothing lovers.

It has been quickly about a year and a half since I interviewed Mr. Hayashi in Hui-Nam.

We will be looking at Michio Hayashi , a solitary creator.

Hayashi and "by H." have not changed much, but they have steadily deepened.ARTS & SCIENCEThe new line has been created by teaming up with the "M" brand, which has been a leader in the industry for more than 30 years.

New Cuba Shirt ¥60,500

The name of the project is "HAS (shirt by H made by A&S). For this project, Mr. Hayashi conceived the shirt design from scratch and created a pattern. Based on this, six types of shirts were completed using Arts & Science's original fabrics and production backgrounds.

Narrow Sleeve Wide Long Shirt ¥81,400

At the "HAS NOT" event, where these shirts will be unveiled, there will also be special order items made for "Arts & Science" from the "by H." 2022SS collection, as well as one-of-a-kind remake items that Hayashi has been making since his student days.

The remake items prepared for this event are named after Marlene Dietrich and other people. The idea came from an image of "Wouldn't it be cool if that person wore this? The idea was born from the image of "Wouldn't it be cool if that person wore this?

Below is Hayashi's comment on the remake.

The process of making things at "by H." is from the ground up, thinking about the design and drawing up the pattern. This remake process is interesting in a different way, as it involves taking an existing item apart, understanding the intent of the tailoring, and reconstructing it while incorporating my own elements. The items I made for HAS NOT this time are mainly remakes of jackets, and this is because outerwear in particular is made with complex lines and tailoring, so it is easy to find your own meaning by breaking it down and reconstructing it. In discussing this project with Sonia, I decided to go back to my roots and try remaking for the first time in a while. I wanted to try to see what kind of things could come out of my now grown-up self. As a result, I think it turned out to be something interesting. Many of the pieces I think would be cool if women wore them in a rough way, and I would be happy if they could wear them freely."

In addition, the installation planned for both Tokyo and Fukuoka will feature "Hayashi Matsumoto's Flowers," an experiment in collaboration with photographer Naoya Matsumoto. Based on the concept of "photographs to decorate," Hayashi will use flowers as the subject matter, while Matsumoto will take charge of the vase and space styling, and Matsumoto will capture the flowers in photographs.

By looking at all of these creations, one can get a glimpse of the aesthetic sense of the creator Michio Hayashi.
