Olivier Saillard is the director of J.M. WESTON. Olivier Saillard has a unique background, having previously served as the director of the Galliera Palace Museum of Mode in Paris.
Olivier will hold a traveling exhibition, "Chaussoeuvre by Olivier Saillard," at J.M. WESTON's Aoyama and Shinsaibashi stores.
The title of the exhibition, "Chaussoeuvre," is a coined word combining the French words "chausseur," meaning shoes, and "oeuvre," meaning artwork. Chausseur" means shoes in French and "oeuvre" means artwork.
As he said, based on the iconic J.M. WESTON model, he created an object reminiscent of a surrealist work.
On display will be 10 pairs of art pieces. The Maison's exceptional craftsmanship and Olivier's deep knowledge of art and fashion are in perfect harmony.
Please come and see the boots created by three-dimensional molding of a single piece of leather, hand-sewn Norwegian stitching, and other sewing, fishing, and bottoming techniques that have been passed down over the past 100 years.
It will be held in two phases, from Friday, April 22 to Tuesday, May 17, and from Friday, May 20 to Monday, June 13.
