The second capsule collection by MM6 Maison Margiela and Eastpak will be available starting Friday, April 29.
Surrealism was the key to this design. This is one of the leading art movements of the 20th century and has had a great impact on the world of contemporary art.
The collaboration incorporates these elements in a total lineup of five models. Let's take a look at them one by one.
The first model introduced here is an adaptation of Eastpak's signature "Padded Packer Backpack". The design expresses melting distortion like a surrealist object. It is available in black, yellow, and green .
Next up is MM6 Maison Margiela's signature "Japanese" bag with the addition of a front pocket. This unique look was created by docking the distinctive details of the "Eastpak" backpack. The bag is also available in black, off-white, yellow, and green.
The motif for this shoulder bag was a three-fold wallet . . This shape was created by boldly scaling up the Eastpak classic. The pockets and brand tag have been enlarged as is. Made of nylon, it can also be used as a clutch bag for a laptop.
Reflecting the Surrealist approach, this suitcase is entirely covered in faux fur. This unexpected design has a great impact and is sure to catch the eyes of those around you when you carry it to the airport. It is a limited edition of 100 pieces worldwide and is cabin-size enough to be carried on a plane.
The last design is also typical of " MM6 Maison Margiela. Printed on the flat body is the "Padded Reversible Backpack" created in the previous collaboration. The inside has a padded laptop sleeve and an organizer pocket, making it not only visually appealing but also functional. It is made with the user in mind.
The capsule collection will be sold at MM6 Maison Margiela stores, as well as at both brands' online stores (maisonmargiela.com, ,eastpak.com),「Isetan Mitsukoshi Online Store (Ladies)", "HANKYU HANSHIN E-STORES (Hankyu FASHION)." and will be available at select stores.
All of the designs are humorous, as if under the spell of "MM6 Maison Margiela". If you are interested, please check the details on the website first.
