Luxury watches are attracting attention due to the Corona disaster. In fact, some local department stores are expanding their sales floors and increasing their lineups.
In such a situation, various manufacturers have released a variety of new products, but we will focus here on a limited edition model from Grand Seiko. This is a piece celebrating the 55th anniversary of the birth of the famous 44GS.
First, let me explain about the 44GS, the wristwatch that established the "Seiko style. The characteristic feature of the 44GS is its beautiful case design, which is polished by "rough polishing," and its sharply shaped beauty that stands out from its face to face is said to have become the cornerstone of the "Grand Seiko.
This limited edition model is inspired by the scene of a full moon in a clear night sky, "Tsuki Tenshin. The deep navy dial with the gold-colored "GS" logo and second hand create a calm beauty.
Another feature is the minute and second hands, the tips of which are curved gently toward the dial, which were bent by hand. By eliminating the distance between the hands and the dial, they are designed to make the time easier to read than ordinary hands.
The hand-wound caliber 9R31 was created at the Shinshu Ji no Takumi Workshop, and features a dual spring-barrel mechanism with two mainsprings, providing a 72-hour power reserve.
The diameter of the case is a user-friendly 40 mm, and the crocodile strap that matches it creates a mature atmosphere.
The release date is Friday, August 19. . 1,500 pieces are limited worldwide, and 500 pieces will be distributed in Japan.
