The West Coast of the United States gave birth to and developed various cultures such as hip-hop, skate, and hippies. Mei Yong, director of "Liberaders," who spent her twenties in the West Coast, has incorporated the strong yearning she felt at the time into this season's collection.
Here is a collection of items that are not simply imitations of American fashion, but rather interpretations of it in the "Liberaders" style.
GARMENTDYED OXFORD SHIRT ¥19,800 each
This is a unique take on the oxford shirt, a staple in men's wear. Although the item has a formal impression, embroidery is scattered throughout and the design is moderately oversized, resulting in a piece that is easy to wear on a daily basis. The collar has a hidden button-down design, as seen on dress shirts. Whether to button or unbutton is up to your preference.
EMBROIDERY CREWNECK ¥16,500 each
The rough embroidered OG logo on the front of the sweatshirt is reminiscent of 90's street wear. The body of the sweatshirt has been treated with a frosted finish, a specialty of "Liberaders," and the faded coloring gives it a used look.
PARADISE CITY L/S TEE ¥9,350 each
As mentioned above, the Fall-Winter 2010 collection is filled with a strong yearning for the American West Coast. For example, the graphic on the front of this long T-shirt is designed in psychedelic and punk-inspired patterns and colors, giving it a West Coast feel.
POCKET L/S TEE ¥8,250
This pocket tee features a one-point embroidery of "Liberaiders destination unknown," and its simple design will fit in with any style.
EMBROIDERY CHINO TROUSERS ¥19,800 each
These chinos are made of thick stretch twill and, like the oxford shirt, are embroidered with the brand's logo and an origami crane design. The trendy silhouette is relaxed around the waist and tapers to the hem. This versatile pair has a relaxed feel, yet is not too fussy.
The items introduced here will go on sale from September 9 (Fri.). If you haven't started your fall shopping yet, why don't you start with "Liberaders"?
