To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hasami-ware maker Maruhiro, an exhibition will be held in Nakameguro to coincide with the release of the book.

."MARUHIRO. is a ceramics manufacturer in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, that designs and sells tableware and interior goods made from Hasami-yaki pottery, which has a 400-year history.

With their focus on Hasami-ware, they have expanded their activities into a variety of genres, and their activities are remarkable.

The year 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of MARUHIRO. To commemorate this anniversary, a book titled "MARUHIRO BOOK 2010-2020, 2021-" (hereinafter referred to as "MARUHIRO BOOK") will be released, and I would like to introduce it to you. Maruhiro is headed by the president, Mr. Shohei Baba, whom we previously interviewed in this article, but the road to success was not an easy one.

Baba, who had never studied design and had no interest in pottery, took over the family business from his father, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, just 12 years ago. To celebrate the publication, a launch event will be held at "happa" in Nakameguro from October 8 (Sat.) to October 10 (Mon.). The event will feature archives of MARUHIRO's work over the past 10 years, as well as new works and prototypes that have not yet been released, providing an opportunity to see "MARUHIRO's past and future" at a glance. A collaborative item between art director Takahiro Yasuda and MARUHIRO. The stone-shaped figurine uses "BRIGHTORB®," a new ceramic molding material for 3D printers made by "AGC Corporation.
