YASHIKI" incorporates the scenery and culture of Ishikawa Prefecture, the designer's hometown, into its clothes. For the 23SS collection, the theme is "Hanami" (cherry blossom viewing), and the various views of cherry blossoms are incorporated into the knitwear.
Here are the first two items and the two items that will appear.
First, a high-neck zip-up blouson inspired by the blooming of cherry blossoms. The flat jersey knit of the sleeves and body expresses the dark, colorless winter of Hokuriku and Ishikawa, while the uneven pattern of the shoulder parts represents the blooming of cherry blossoms.
Another key point is the use of a technique called plaiting, in which different yarns are knitted on the front and back sides, and the color of the yarns is changed on the front and back sides to create a look with depth.
The kimono pattern, a staple of the Yashiki line, is used to create a loose-fitting silhouette with shoulders that fall when worn.

The next knit is inspired by the rows of cherry blossom trees along the Saigawa River, which flows gently along the west side of Kanazawa Castle. The center of the body is knitted in corrugated fabric representing the flow of the river, and the sides are decorated with patterns of various sizes and shapes reminiscent of cherry blossom petals flying in the air. The neck, which resembles the collar of a kimono, is also an unlikely detail.
