The latest installment of "NACC/Nihonbashi Anarchy Culture Center", Vol. 4 will be held from tomorrow for a month and a half, presenting cross-cultural activities of various artists in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, a town where tradition and innovation are blended.
The release states.
-----
This view of humanity holds that play is the essence of human activity and the root from which culture emerges. And also, play is something that gives meaning to life beyond biological activities that seek to sustain life.
In 1938, Johan Huizinga said in his book "Homo Ludens" (The Man Who Plays) that "play precedes culture. So-called "culture" is not a single concept, but a byproduct of various forms of "play. However, in recent times, the context of "play" has faded away and the definition of "culture" has become like "culture=commerce. We are "preserving culture, creating culture. We can say "preserve culture," "create culture," and so on. We do not say gutsy words like "preserve culture" or "create culture. Instead, we want to see a passion and enthusiasm that is unknowable. We believe that this is what "play" is all about, and it is the antithesis of the bland modern world.
Artists with different ways of expression will exhibit their works for about a month and a half at Nihonbashi Anarchy Cultural Center. Art, music, architecture, film, photography, fashion, etc. A "place" for various forms of self-expression. It is a showcase for artists and a "place" for cross-genre chemical reactions.
Be chaos. Be not complete.

The second exhibition, "Art is Magic / Doshiki Pig: Selected Exhibitions Part 2, Art is Magic," will bring together a diverse range of talent, including artists active in a variety of fields, including art, fashion, and architecture, with unconventional methods of expression, as well as musicians who exhibit experimental works in pursuit of sound, and a unique unit that transcends titles and genders. The exhibition will bring together a wide variety of talents, including artists active in art, fashion, architecture, and other fields with unconventional methods of expression, musicians who pursue experimental sound in their exhibitions, and unique units that transcend titles and gender.
Don't think! Feel."
Perhaps no other event could be more fitting of the word.
