Exploring the Possibilities of Eyewear. A one-day photo exhibition by photographer Kazunari Tajima and Hakusan Opticians will be held at PLUG.

The company was founded in 1883. In 1946, the main store was opened in Ueno, Tokyo, and in 1975, the company began producing original frames. Under the motto of "not too much design," Hakusan Opticians offers high quality eyewear that fits in well with the user.

They have been loved by many celebrities as the pride of Japan's long-established opticians, and will hold a one-day photo exhibition "alive- tajima kazunali for Hakusan" with photographer Kazunari Tajima at "PLUG" on May 25 (Thu.).

After working as an assistant to Akira Gomi, he became independent and began working in Paris and New York in 1989, and moved to Tokyo in 2002, expanding his activities from advertising and fashion to music and TV commercials.

The concept is "Glasses with a will. Living glasses. They are parasites on people. Where are they playing today? Mr. Tajima focused on the models he liked at the store, and photographed them under the humorous theme of seeing glasses as living creatures. At the exhibition, 12 photos taken especially for this show will be on display.

These photos will also be compiled into a limited-quantity photo book, which will be given away to customers who purchase eyeglass frames at any of the five directly operated Hakusan Opticians stores. This book, which captures eyewear from a fresh perspective, will be distributed from June 1 (Thu.).
