The editorial board is bombarded with news of collaboration on a daily basis, but I hope you will loosen that swiping hand once and for all on this one and catch it properly.

The collaboration began when "Captain Sunshine" created the staff uniforms for Eyevol's flagship store, Eyevol Tokyo Store. Designer Kojima requested flip-up sunglasses, and development began in response to his request.

This was the first attempt to create a flip-up model, which had not been developed even for Eyevol's inline line, and it took many prototypes over a long period of time before it was completed.

. The look is a classic sunglasses with a French vintage twist, but they are flip-up sunglasses that allow you to flip up the front while wearing them.

Flip-up sunglasses generally have many parts, making them heavy and structurally susceptible to breakage, but Eyevol has solved these problems by using its strength in high-precision technology made in Japan.

The complex parts are made of TR-90 (polyamide resin), a light and strong material, and an original hinge part that does not loosen easily is used for the flip-up frame, allowing for stable opening and closing. Furthermore, a magnet mechanism is provided to prevent the front part from lifting up when the wearer wears it, and other details have been carefully considered in the design.

The rubber (TPE material) parts on the inside of the temples, which are iconic parts of "Eyevol" and create a grip when worn, have been specially colored by "Captain Sunshine" for this collaboration.

Eyevol's design is classic with a hint of "Captain Sunshine's" sense of style, and at the same time, Eyevol has brilliantly solved the problems of flip-ups. This one of a kind piece will go on sale on May 20 (Sat.).
