Following last year's event, this year's event will be held again! There will be no judging and no entry fee, and zine tour events with an increased independent purity will be held in 8 locations throughout Japan.

ZINE is a medium in which the creator freely gives form to what he or she wants to express. More independent than magazines or books, zines have unlimited possibilities.

The "flotsam zines tour 2023," a project based on the theme of such zines, will be held again this year starting tomorrow, following last year's event.

The only requirements for participation are that the zines must have been produced within the past year, be priced at 3,000 yen or less, and be small enough to fit in a letter-pack.

For the three days starting tomorrow, we will be holding the "flotsam booksThe exhibition will tour to Sendai, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka, and finally to Tokyo's "Dekay," where it will be held for the last time in eight cities in about two months.

Two photographers, Daisuke Yokota, known for winning the "Ihei Kimura Photography Award" in 2019, and Naohiro Ukawa, who has participated in numerous solo exhibitions and group shows overseas, will participate as special selection committee members, and the selected book will be published and sold as a new zine from "Flotsam Books". The selected book will be published and sold as a new zine.

The "flotsam zines tour 2023" will be a great opportunity to see what kind of zines you can expect to encounter. We hope you will enjoy the world of zines, which you cannot imagine until you turn the pages, at the venues in 8 cities.
