The recently released "My Jeep®,My Life How I live with my JeepRyosuke Nagaoka, a musician who appeared on "The Petrols. He talked about a wide range of topics, from guitar-related topics to the activities of his band, the Petrols, to his hobbies of cars and bicycles.
Ryosuke Nagaoka
Born in Chiba, Japan in 1978. He has been supporting professional musicians as a guitarist since he was a student, and in 2005, he joined Ringo Shiina's band "Tokyo Incidents" as a guitarist under the name "Ukigumo". In the same year, he formed his own band, "Petrols. Currently, in addition to his own band activities, he is actively supporting and producing for other musicians.
Mr. Nagaoka places great importance on "having his own values," and he says that he tries to do the same when shopping, without being bound by trends. What kind of things does he love to use on a daily basis? Here we introduce some of his personal items.
Guitar "RS Guitarworks
I bought this one at the beginning of this year. The system inside is the same as my favorite Fender Telecaster model. On the other hand, I also like the sharply shaped model called the "Flying V" by Gibson, and this is the ideal guitar that combines them. Actually, I already had a pink paisley-patterned one in a different color, but this one is a standard Telecaster color with a different body shape. It's kind of stylish, don't you think?
guitar strap
Shin Teshima, who runs a shoe brand called "Makers," made these specially for me. I asked him if he thought it would be cool to have a strap with a series of strings. I thought it would be cool if there was a strap that had a string of strings. I love it.
Pick "PETROLZ".
The picks for my band, which are also sold at live venues, have graphics by illustrator yuko m. "The thickness is just right, and they are a little sharply triangular and somewhat small in size," he says. The thickness is just right, and it has a slightly sharp triangle, making it slightly smaller in size.
Eyewear "Vintage
I bought this item at the flagship store of a brand called " Mirock. . It looks like it was made by the sports manufacturer "Spalding" a long time ago. At first glance, they look ordinary, but upon closer inspection, the frames have a slightly unusual shape. I like such glasses. I like the fact that they look a little weird when you wear them (laughs).
Loafers "Maker's
As I mentioned earlier with the straps, they are from a shoe brand by my friend Mr. Teshima. I've been wearing them for about three years now. When I was looking for mature shoes, he told me, 'Just try these,' so I started wearing them. They are getting better and better, and they taught me the joy of polishing shoes and making them beautiful.
Bicycle "Moulton
." "The ride is unique, and the suspension is unique in the way it moves while driving. This suspension is not designed to absorb the impact of climbing bumps, but to make the ride flat and comfortable when driving on normal roads. I like the way it responds to even the smallest bumps and unevenness in the road surface. I assembled the whole thing myself."
Air compressor "RENNKOMPRESSOR
. "It's a German manufacturer's inflator , and it accurately displays the air pressure. . I actually had the plug that plugs into the valve replaced with a good quality one. If the plug is a bad one, it can break the valve, but that doesn't happen with this one at all. I like it because it snaps right in."
CD "BLUE MAGIC" , "PRINCE
I heard Blue Magic being played at Millimeter's Music, the guitar store I visited for this photo shoot, and was curious about it. . The jacket was so cool that I bought the CD myself. I like mellow songs sung by old-time chorus groups , and I listen to them often. A member of a unit I was in when I was in my early 20s sang a song from this album, and it made a big impression on me. Then one day, more than 10 years later, I happened to come across the original song, which was also wonderful. I have been captivated by this album ever since.
