Portraits, fashion snaps, documents . It is none of the above, and none of the above. A book by stylist Koji Oyamada, "Naniga miteru yume," which looks at the boundary between reality and fiction, is now available.

The 580-page project, which ran from January 2020 to May 2023, featured 287 of Oyamada's friends and acquaintances as subjects, and was photographed by 22 different photographers.
They are of different ages, occupations, and genders. The photographs were taken in the places where they live or where they visited with Mr. Oyamada, adding just one item of clothing or accessory that Mr. Oyamada had collected to the subject's outfit of the day.
While capturing the personal aspects of each person's life and daily routine, they also serve as fashion visuals. The photographs, a mixture of realism and fiction, are the very point of view of Ms. Oyamada.
