Photographer based in Miyagi Prefecture.Lieko Shiga. . "CANARY," which won the Ihei Kimura Photography Award, and "Spiral Staircase" after the Great East Japan Earthquake, have a unique worldview that seems to capture something dark, otherworldly, and out-of-this-world, and emits a strong magnetic force.
Rieko Shiga Blind Date," her first major solo exhibition in five years, is currently on view at the Genichiro Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture, starting Saturday, June 10, 2017.
To celebrate the exhibition and the publication of the photo book of the same name (published by T&M Projects), a talk event will be held at "T&M Projects" in Tokyo.VACANTThe event will be held in .
In the first half of the talk, Lieko Shiga will talk about her work "Blind Date" alone. The second half will be a trilogy talk between Rieko Shiga, Kunieda Katsura, the curator in charge of the exhibition, and designer Daishiro Mori, who designed the exhibition's promotional materials and photo book.
What goes on in the mind of Lieko Shiga, who takes such photographs . What kind of tone does she use? I am curious about all of these things even before the event.

Rieko Shiga ( Rieko Shiga )
Born 1980 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan . Graduated from Chelsea College, University of the Arts London in 2004 . After graduating from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, in 2004, he spent time in Brisbane, Sendai, Singapore, and other cities. After returning to Japan, he moved to Kitama, Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture, and began compiling an oral history of immigrants. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, he held the exhibition "Spiral Coast" in Miyagi Prefecture. Major collections of photographs include "CANARY" and "Spiral Coast album. Blind Date" will be published by T&M Projects in June 2017.

Curator at Marugame Genichiro Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art, Marugame, Japan . born in 1978 in Tokyo, Japan. Received MFA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Worked at Mori Art Museum before assuming her current position. In charge of "Lieko Shiga Blind Date. Recent exhibitions include "Martino Gamper: 100 Chairs in 100 Days" (2015) and "Teppei Kaneuji's Mercator Membrane" (2016). In addition, he organized the series introducing performances, and was in charge of "PLAY vol.01-03 Yuya Tsukahara" (2015-2017).
Daishiro Mori ( Daishiro Mori )
Designer, born in Tokyo in 1971. . Designed the publicity materials for the exhibition "Lieko Shiga Blind Date" and the photo book of the same name. . Mainly works on editorial design for art exhibitions and film festival catalogs.
