The hot summer has finally settled down, and I am in the mood to wear a denim jacket for the first time in a while. Maison Margiela's new collection answered the call.
The greatest highlight is the "décorticé" symbolized by the sleeves. As the name suggests, "décorticé," which means "to peel or strip," refers to cutwork that exposes the lining and structure of the garment, which should normally be hidden. The clean look is maintained despite the bold damage work, which is something that only Maison Margiela can achieve.
This denim jacket is part of the "Co-Ed" collection created by Creative Director John Galliano. It is a prêt-a-porter derived from the ideas and techniques embodied in the "Artisanal" haute couture collection.
The front consists of two buttoned pockets and a buttoned placket, with adjustable waist tabs on the sides and the familiar four white stitches set in the back.
This season's "Co-Ed" collection seeks a theme from the good old days in America. This is a piece of clothing that is a perfect example of that theme.¥194,700
