Yudai Nishi, a painter, held a solo exhibition of new works at VOILLD in Nakameguro.Monocentricitywill be held from Friday, July 7 to Friday, July 28.

Yudai Nishi is a painter born in Kyoto and currently based in Tokyo.
His works are composed through his own thinking, influenced by his roots in American comics, heroes, and street art of the 80s. These motifs are composed through his own thinking, influenced by American comics, heroes, and street art of the 80's, which is also his roots.
Behind the seemingly familiar simplicity of Nishi's work lies an irony in the various values of materials, the complicated forms of communication, and the diversifying nature of individuality in the modern age. Nishi uniquely simplifies various issues, and his designs are so concise that the viewer can intuitively perceive the appeal and essence of his work.
This solo exhibition, titled "Mono-shin," will focus on a series of 20 black-and-white paintings that take as their subject matter his own return to his origins. Animals, body parts, everyday objects, and imaginary creatures are depicted with humor and lively lines.
Like an answer to the question that has always been asked of his works and to the question of the act of unreasonably assigning meaning to them, they are stripped of fixed concepts and general rules, and are reproduced as pure "images" as Nishi felt them. The images, which seem to bring to light Nishi's keen insight and contemplation, pose the question to us, "What is essence? What is the essence?
The charm of the "VOILLD" exhibit is that it interprets art not from the context of history or culture, but from a flat perspective and presents it in a contemporary way. If you read Ise's text, you will understand his sincere attempt to convey the non-verbal approach of art with care and accuracy.

YUDAI NISHI
Born in 1991 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from Kyoto Seika University, Faculty of Design, Department of Visual Design, Illustration Course in 2015.
He started his career as an artist while still in school and is currently based in Tokyo.
Focusing on the production of artwork, he is active in a wide range of activities, including vigorously holding solo exhibitions and participating in group exhibitions, as well as producing illustrations and products using his own artwork.
